A new smartphone from the best-selling Chinese brand, Xiaomi has surfaced on the online platform. The smartphone is expected to be the first model in the “R” series and should probably be christened as “Xiaomi R1”.
By looking at the two images, one can easily make out that it will be carrying the regular USB 2.0 slot (the company refrained from adopting the Type-C slot in most smartphones with Redmi branding). Moreover, it will be getting the 3.5-mm headphone jack on the top portion, similar to the Redmi Note 4.
The smartphone gets a bezel-less design with the navigation buttons given on the screen. Also, it is expected to get the fingerprint scanner on the rear panel, under the camera. It looks to have a 5.99-inch screen with a full HD resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels, which means an aspect ratio of the trending 18:9. It is expected to get a 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage along with a 2GHz octa-core processor and Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset. The front camera should be getting a 5MP lens while the rear camera is expected to gain a 12MP lens and an impressive Exmor-RS CMOS sensor and Phase Detection Autofocus.
